Ubiquity for Firefox


You can use a Ubiquity command to use urlShort inside Firefox.

What is Ubiquity?

Ubiquity is a Mozilla Labs experiment into connecting the Web with language in an attempt to find new user interfaces that could make it possible for everyone to do common Web tasks more quickly and easily. More information and download

Adding the command

· If you're already using Ubiquity you'll notice an information bar with a "Subscribe" button in the top of this page. (Install Ubiquity from Mozilla Labs if you haven't already.)
· Click on the "Subscribe" button.
· A new page with the Command's source will appear.
· Click "I know what I'm doing. Subscribe to it!". (We guarantee there is no malicious code. If you're still worried, view the source code.)

Using the command

· Select the URL you want to shorten.
· Now open Ubiquity and type the letter "u" (no quotes).
· Press "enter" or type the URL to shorten.
· Now your original URL will be replaced by a shortened URL using urlShort and copied to your clipboard.
